CGBF is proud to take over Ojai's Annual Student Art Show from the Porch Gallery Ojai, in 2017. As Ojai's Non-profit Art Charity so much of our work is focused around education our community about fine art. A large portion of our audience is students and school communities. This year, we decided to change the name of the The Student Show to The School Show, and showcase not only our local youth, but their influencers as well. Our students from Nordhoff High School, Oak Grove School, Thacher School, Ojai Valley School, and Besant Hill School are sharing the gallery space with teachers -- Elizabeth Reynolds from Thacher School, Kate Thomas from Nordhoff High School -- two local schools. CGBF is also showcasing the works of professional career artists in this show, mentors, whose work includes elements related to school -- Rob Fischer's Dodgeball, a work on paper printed from his sculpture entitled with the same name at High Point Press, and Doug Wada's Lockers, painted as a memory from Doug's childhood. And finally, Ry Rocklen's paper airplanes we flew in class, towards our friends, before cell phone texting existed with his metal paper airplane exhibited in the show! Thank you for supporting our local youth and our public art charity that contributes greatly to youth education!
